Can someone tell me how to effectively utilize speech tools on my pc, so that I can write papers via speech? Thanx in advance

Well, for starters you need speech recognition (SR) software.
http://tinyurl.com/6m3wxDragon has been around for a long time now, and got a good review here.
http://tinyurl.com/5o3uyWord XP and I think 2003 have some SR capabilities. Really you are in the wrong forum for detailed info on MS Office but poking around groups.google.com I get the impression it has few fans.

Google "Speech Recognition Software". You'll find about 3.7 million possible references.

Teach him to fish and his wife will never forgive you.

Louis:
Voice recognition software is at present not ready for prime time. I have read many reviews and tried a few brands. Finally, I settled for IBM's ViaVoice. It's voice recognition capability is the best, but mostly on MS Office Word 2000 (don't know about Word 2003 etc). Other brands like Dragon claims to use on various apps, like Outlook Express, Excel,WordPerfect, etc. but the recognition capability is nowhere as good as ViaVoice.
Whatever brand you settle for, get ready to spend MANY hours training the software to recognize your voice and the vocabulary you use.
Let me know if you find something more accurate than ViaVoice.
Good luck.
