In the address box where you see www.

type about:cache & press enter.

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.

Hope you don't expect something similar to IE TIF...

[Drive]:/Documents and Settings/[username]/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/[wildcard].default/places.sqlite

Something like that. Feel enabled now?

Thanks for reply, pal.
ok, but there are way too many files and directories, none of them associated with any programs.
cannot make out if there is any image, swf, movie etc files.

how do i view them or make out what type of files. Like in IE, its very clear. Is there any means to view files the way it appears in IE temp internet files?

In my case, if I type about:cache, I get a nice The cache has been disabled. response :) My preference! BTW, you won't find that option under 'Tools/Options...'. It's a bit more involved, just to configure it that way.

There is an arguably sensible reason why Firefox does not follow the IE model.

If you want "the way it happens in IE", I suggest you use IE. Otherwise, the extension "sqlite" might be a hint. Here is another: [SQLite Format 3]

Thanks a lot "IMPatient" for your patience and replies. I guess will try with extension once and then might switch to IE for TIF and Firfox for browsing... :)) thats the best possible combination.

Just FYI, i found something like this too:

[drive]:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\yt823ecz.slt\Cache

this lists down files, no directories and if i guess and change the extension to swf or flv, seeing the size of file, it works. :) But its better to use IE than guessing,....

Anyway, thanks man! All the best

No such *.slt\Cache beast here ;)-- My cache is disabled. Well, at least now you know the location! heh-heh

Mine is in this path (slightly different):

"C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ck6ln1ej.default\Cache"

The figure/letter group "ck6ln1ej" will vary.

Yes, large files are often videos which can be saved elsewhere with flv or mp4 extension added. Not so neat as IE.

Please come back and let us know the outcome.
