Some DVD player programs will play DVD files on a hard drive. I use DVD X Player and it does.

You usually can play VOB files by changing the extension to MPG.

(Edit) I just checked and my Nero (version 7) plays DVDs from a hard drive.

Try VLC. It will play anything. No Codec required.

install UltraISO to mount the dvd image
and use NeroShowtime to view the mounted dvd.

UltraISO will create a virtual Dvd drive and
and mount/load the dvd image in the virtual drive.

Hope it helps.

go to videolan dot org slash vlc. it's a freeware program. two types of files, one for installation and one as a standalone.

Divx player: circuit city has it on sale for $50 with a $20 rebate and I think anything $50 or more is free shipping. The player can play AVI, MPEG, Subtitles, ETC. You don't have to format the Video file in order to watch it in the player. Just burn the file as it is in a CDR or Compile a couple of videos in a DVD-r, burn it and put it in the DVD player. Sit back and watch your computer movie files in the dvd, player in the divx player, into your tv.

UltraIso: It's like a burning and disc image editing tool, that is widely used by many pc users. It is like nero but, I think a more powerful software. You can edit an iso file without ruining it. You can view the disc structure without de-compiling it. You can add files into your ISO's. Also, it can handle alot of Image files. It was a virtual drive function that will let you install a "VIRTUAL DRIVE". So you can mount any DVD or CD image into the Vdrive and windows will recognize it as another DVD/CD drive. It's like plugging in a USB thumb drive into you usb port. Windows automatically will add a removable disk drive. Hopefully this helps.
