Hi

Does anybody knows how to use smartdrv from the win98 boot disk?
John try copying the setup files (the i386 folder) to the harddrive first and installing Xp from there.

I need a Win98 bootdisk to install from the harddrive. I also need a program called smartdrv on the bootdisk, you can get it off of a Win98 cd. Boot the floppy and run smartdrv then to start setup run winnt.exe in the i386 folder.

I typed smartdrv, then i typed winnt.exe, but i kept getting error for the second command, can anybody help?

Is it a bad command/file not found error? Make sure you are in the \i386 folder or that you enter the full path, i.e., c:\i386\winnt.exe

You can run smartdrv from the bootdisk by typing a:\smartdrv.exe
