Hi Tommyo - According to MSKB 890830 FAQ, this tool does not install or update files on a computer. It only check for presence of malicious software per se, and remove itself from the PC if it didn't find any. As to why it's recorded in the "installation history" of Window's Updates is beyond me. i_XpUser

Thank you XpUser and Richard59... that explains it. I was going nuts trying to locate the darn launch site, LOL ! I did read the KB article too, but must have missed something somewhere. I've also come to like the other MS anti-spyware BETA program too; particularly the tracks eraser part. And the spyware scan detection part seems thorough too. Tommyo, you are not on your own there. I have read several postings on the MSR and it would seem that all the replies refer to the Antispyware program. It is all soooooo much clearer now. D4Dog

Hi Dog... Yes, it really had me going for a while, LOL! I looked everywhere for the launch button; could not find it anywhere. I'll bet I spent a couple hours trying to figure out how to launch the damn program. I finally launched it from the Microsoft website directly. Well, now I know, anyways.
