How to upgrade Windows Xp Professional Version 2002

Specs: Windows XP, 256

I have the Above and wants to Upgrade my PC to a Newer version.Always gets errror messages.What specific mus I download.Also gets message that I must upgrde to Internet Explorer 8,cannot cause I must have SP 2 or3.Whats the easiest steps that I can follow?

All windows SPs can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com/downloads.

Then run RUN after downloads.

256MB isn't enough RAM to run XP decently. Your system probably runs extremely slowly. Doubling it to 512MB would help but you really should have at least 1GB (more would be even better). Did you just install XP? If not, why have you waited so long to install the Service Packs? Have you ever run Windows Update from Start > Programs? Do you have the auto-update feature enabled or disabled?

You can download SP3 at the following link. I suggest you save a copy & keep it in case you need it in the future.

Do you mean to Windows 7 or do you mean upgrade your browser to IE8?

Don't even think about going beyond Win 7.

If you mean moving to IE8 then you need to get Windows Service Pack 3 first.
RAM very limited as others have said.
