Hi - I recently upgraded to a ViewSonic Flat Screen monitor. What to I need to get the 1440 x 900 resolution option so the screen is not stretched. I uploaded the driver that came with the monitor - but the Intel Graphics Controller 82810E that came with the PC won't allow for this resolution? Is there a way I can find which card will improve the screen resolution? Nobody can tell me what or how to fix this...and I have 30 days to return the monitor. :) Any info wb appreciated.

screen stretching usually isn't a matter of resolution. Did you read the monitor manual on how to resize vertical and horizontal??? This is standard with every monitor. Consider standard resolutions like 640x480 800x600 1024x768 etc
Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

The resolution you ask for is unusual. By the term Flat Screen I assume you mean LCD ? You can get Flat Screen in CRT type monitors. A 17" LCD should have a Native resolution around 1280 X 1024. Your PC on boot up has detected the new monitor and your video control will give your max setting that you may need to adjust manually. On a free space on your desktop right click. Then left click on "Properties". Left click on the Tab "Settings" The Screen Resolution slide should be all the way to the right. ie the highest setting. If the resolutions here are not correct or small for the monitor then you will need to download the latest driver and software updated for your video controller to reach higher resolutions. Good luck !
