I downloaded a program called Trillian which allows you to connect to AIM, ICQ, MSN, & Yahoo with one program so I now longer need any of these. However, I cannot find how to uninstall the MSN Messenger. Does anyone know how or is it required by Windows (for some odd reason)?

HOW TO REMOVE MESSENGER FROM XP:
Look for sysoc.inf in C:\Windows\INF.
open it and search formsmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7
change it to
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,7
Now you can remove it via add/remove software.
OR SEE: http://www.tweakxp.com/tweakxp/display.asp?id=1125

as long as you haven't done any Windows updates that involve MSN Messenger, the above info will work.
otherwise, you can't get rid of it. you can only disable it.
