When I'm using firefox the only sound I want to hear is the deafening roar of my PC's fans...
How can I turn off the music & sound from being played in the browser?tHaNkS iN aDvAnCe

I am not trying to be funny, but why don't you just disconnect your speakers?
or turn on mute in the volume control my signature does not look like this
The only sounds on my Firefox are associated with Chatzilla. Is that what you're talking about? Life's more painless for the brainless.
O.K. - First thankyou for replying to my question 2nd, I am actually being serious - In Internet Explorer you have an option "Play sounds in web pages" similar to the 'show images' and 'Play videos in web pages' options.
So I'm browsing away in firefox and some website's midi music starts blaring out of my speakers too loud, yes I could turn my speakers off 'completely' or mute them or even just mute my midi volume - but my question was whether firefox had the capability like I.E. of turning sounds off, and by your replies I guess the score is:
I.E. 1 - Firefox 0Bye
PS. How can I listen to hanson and surf, with everything muted?

Thanks for that, gilloz - that's exactly the type of thing I was looking for ('Stop Autoplay'), its just a shame it doesn't work all that well...
Hopefully the author will improve on it soon?thanks again
