hello, I bought a new laptop but I would like to put the "old" one (E7K60) on my new laptop. What I have to do to make it ready for the new laptop? Thanks

-There is no easy way to do that. When you move XP hard drives, they very seldom (if ever) work without doing a 'repair' install. Even that sometimes doesn't wotk and you end up having to do a format/install.

you should consider backing up your data and just reansferring the data to the new LT. doing what yu are talking about will have multiple driver sets for the hardware, a slpooy registry, etc. if you want it to run as well as it can, do do this.

It may not work, you may even have to remove the hard drive and unscrew the screws voiding the warranty if it isn't a removable one. What I suggest is backing up the files on a network and transfer the files you need and use the new lap top's OS which I'm assuming is the same as the old ones OS.

use the existing setting of the hard drive on the new laptop is not a good idea because many existing drivers don't work on the new laptop. So you need to install new drivers for the new laptop.

well, all I would like to be sure is that the hardrive will boot somehow into the new laptop... then I can install the driver that I want. I have tried already to boot a hd from a different computer, but windows doesn't boot, not asks for installation disk or anything... I can't believe there is no way of getting around this...

It might not work but google the word "SYSPREP" That is the process you need to follow to prepare XP harddrive to migrate from one PC to another. In theory it removes the installed hardware drivers and leaves only the basic XP drivers enough to boot in the new environment. you will then need to have your XP instal CD handy to load up extra drivers as well as any specific chipset drivers for the new PC. Full instructions are in the Msoft knowledge base. I just do not have the direct link handy but the search function there will find it for you. Here is another link with another method.: http://www.theeldergeek.com/move_harddrive.htm
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
