How to stop spam desktop Icons???

How do you stop desktop icons from appearing in your desktop?
Example: "Iraqi cards" "Live Girls" etc.
The Live Girls icon is actually a program that was downloaded to my hard drive. when I erase it all the icons seem to come back in a week.
I'm positive nobody downloaded it in my house.
anybody help?

Have you used SpyBot and AdAware to check for Spyware? Also, look in your Temp. folder and clean out whatever you find in there. ( Its just before your Temporary Internet Files folder)
