you might have to be an administrator to use this, or they might need power user rights. the point of a limited user is just that, to limit what they can and can't do.

you might get it to work by changing the access rights for this peice of software. i am sure there are ways to do it but im not sure about how to do it in xp.

In unix you can set the program to run as admin or root while still being executable by people that are not admin or root.

It is possible that the software is trying access system resources only available to admins.

You can try using "runas". open a cmd prompt and type in runas for the runas help file.

this will allow you to run the software as administrator.

not as seemless as it should be but i think it will work.

there is a tweak out there that will add runas to your rightclick menu.

I have it installed but sadly i cant remember where i found it at. At least i dont think its there by default.

i have never used this but you can try this.

make a shortcut to the app your trying to run.
right click on the shortcut and choose properties.

click advanced
hit the check box for "run with different credentials"

that "should" allow you to set the program run as administrator.

You may need to be logged in as admin to set that up.
