how to setup network printer

i got 2 comps and 1 printer.. my comp is connected with another one. tried many times to setup a home network so that i could transfer files and share a printer.
my problem is im not sure how to setup, cos' they ask for the comp or printer name, and the pattern is //server/printer (something like this)

Ok. first of all, how is your network set up? Are you able to see the other computer on each computer? if so, then you know the network is set up. then you should actually use the wizards they are the easiest way. Like ADD PRITER, NETWORK PRINTER, then browse to the other computer and find the printer. And select it.(make sure it's shared on the printer computer).
