I have a Linksys Cable/DSL 4-port Router
(NR041).
Before, I use it connect with cable internet and three pc, it work very well.
Now change to SBC Yahoo DSL service. I put network line from DSL modem into internet port of router, all three pc network line into LAN port of router.
The problem is -- three pc can see each other, but all pc can not access internet.
If I directly put DSL network line from DSL modem into one pc, that pc pc can access internet.
SBC Yahoo DSL use PPPoE, need user name and password to access internet. I think this is problem ?
I don't know how to setup PPPoE ?
How to setup DSL user name and password with router ?

PPPoE is in your router, you need to "get into" your router to select "PPPoE" and also set the "User name" and "Password" that is supplied by your DSL provider,
"SBC Yahoo DSL". You need to put in your router I.P. Address into the Internet Explorer browser HTTP://192.168.1.1
to access your router.
I suggest, for a visual on what you are doing, to go to linksys help page at:
http://www.linksys.com/tech_helper/intro.htmlHope that helps you.
Happy Ghost :-)

Dear Happy:
Thank you for help.
I think your instruction more help than Linksys website.
I got SBC Yahoo DSL user name and Password, Now I just need setup with router.
After type http://192.168.1.1 and get into router, what I shall do next ?
Would you give little detail instruction about get into router, then setup PPPoE with user name and password.
Thank you again for your help.

Yo Alpha,
I have the same set up as you have.
1. First go to http://192.168.1.1 to get into the router.
2. Under the set up tab, you should find the option on user and password, enter your pacbell user and password there. You need to find out the defaut IP of pacbell, it should start 63.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx this will set your gate way and DNS (domain name server). If you don't know that it is, then you can always start the program that you had to connect to pacbell before you have the router. On the settings you should see all of these information.
3. Connect the cable from the pacbell DSL modem to the WAN port of your linksys router. Then connect your 3 computers to the other ports. And vioala.... you're on the internet.
Do send me an email if you're still having problems. I am at work now so I do not remember the entire setup page of the linksys router. Ping me an email and I'll reply by tonite when I am at home.- Ken

Easy setup.
Here is what your setup is going to be. When you turn on your dsl modem, it just sits and waits for a computer to demand a connection. So you can either use a program to login everytime you want a connection or have your router automatically log on for you (your linksys can do this).
Make sure your dsl modem is in bridge mode. If not, check your ISP's online tech support- it's usually somewhere in there. I had the same problem with networking. If you have to, call your ISP tech support and ask.
Set everything up, turn it all on. On one computer, go to your browser and type in the address field HTTP://192.168.1.1. Its the default address of your router. Default login is a blank user and password is "admin." (I think- check Linksys doc).
In router config, go to Setup (Im using the bfx router/4port at firmware 1.44). In setup, set WAN connection as PPPoE. Now, put in your username and password for your ISP. Save using the button at the bottom.
Now, in your windows command line (look in Start|Run and then type in "cmd", press enter) type in "ping yahoo.com." If it cant find the host, try it once more. If you get another no, you are not on the internet.
Check your dsl modem lights. LAN light is for you, WAN light is for your connection. Same with your router. Turn your router off and then on again. Go back to your router setup and make sure everything is as you left it.
But make sure you're dsl modem is in bridge mode. Bridge mode allows your router to take control of the connection. Good luck.
