How to send messages on network?

Hi there how to I send a message to another computer on my college network? I think it's something to do with net-send then IP?

hello yeah it is to do with netsend.. you type netsend "the IP" "message" in the dos window. if your college network is anything like mine tho it will not work because they will have blocked it!

Hey there thanks for replying. This is the message I get when I try to do it like net send IP hello . Check the spelling of the message alias. If it is correct, then the computer that is to receive your message may be busy. Try sending the message again later. Does it have to be a name instead of an IP or is this the message that is displayed when the net send facility is blocked like Becky's? Poor Becky :-( lol
