When I open a new tab I am getting an AVG search window.
It doesn't seem to work very well.
I want a simple Google search window. Not Google Chrome either.
I am using Firefox.
And some suggestions have said select "toolbar sproket?" (looks like a wrench) I can't find it.
I do NOT want google as my HOMEPAGE, just the page that opens when I open a NEW TAB ONLY

You can get Go-to-google add-on for firefox. It places a G symbol in the lower right corner and when you click on it opens a new tab on google home-page Goin' Fishin' (Some day)
Just Open This Link https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi... and install tab mix plus. After Installing Go To Events->New Tabs->Load on New Tabs->Home Page
and your problem is solved.
