how to run program with command prompt

Specs: Windows XP
I am trying to install the program and after downloading it I have to run it with command prompt on windows XP and I don't know how. could anybody help?:)

Simply click Start / Run and type in cmd, then press enter.
You will get a black command prompt window.
In this window, you will see this most likely:

So now you have to navigate to the drive and folder, where your program you have to start is located.

If you have to change the drive e.g. drive D, use this command:
D: (and hit enter)

It should look like this:

Now you have to change the directory:
Assuming, the program is located on C and stored in program files, navigate to the folder like this:
We have:

type in:
cd "\program files\your_program_folder"
where your_program_folder is the directory, where your program is located.

Now type in:
and look for .exe files. The only files, that are executable are, .bat, .cmd, .exe, .com, .vbs.
(I hopefully haven't forget one.)

Normally programs have the extension .exe, so look for the .exe files and type in the name of it and hit enter.
