There are some CDs that cant be run from the hard drive, like MS encarta, no matter how I try to copy that CD into the HD, I have to insert it in the CD drive each time I need to run the program, is there a way to run such CDs from the HD?

use the daemon tool, do create an image (with clonecd for example) on the harddisk.
then do load the image into the Daemon, which will simulate a cd-rom drive..

Hello,
Another program you might consider is Paragon CD Emulator (http://www.paragon-gmbh.com) I use it to run MS Encarta Dictionary from hard drive and it works just fine.
