How to replace Boot.ini

Specs: Windows XP, 1200 Mhz
I am unable to repair my WinXp OS through
recovery console, the option to repair (dirty
install) does not appear. I will need to create a
new boot.ini. Can someone help me?

open notepad
type parameters and save the file by writing the name boot.ini

.....*CDDrive is your cdrom drive letter (I do not know what your drive letter is) only one drive letter COPY E:\I386\NTLDR C:\ [press enter]

*... It should identify your XP installation...(type) Y once you see this prompt.

...You should be prompted to enter the load identifier...

...(type) Microsoft XP Home Edition ...or... Microsoft XP Professional

... depending on whichever version you have..[press enter]

... you should be prompted to enter the load options...

... (type) /fastdetect [press enter]

... type exit [press enter]

... remove the cd ... reboot!
