How to remove Vista and replace it with XP

i cannot remove or format my drive C seems vista wont let XP to remove it. I wanted to remove vista and use xp rather..Thanks

It is possible to use WinXP but be aware that there may not be any drivers available for some of the hardware.

Post the exact model of your computer.

LOL If vista isn't running, it can hardly prevent removal of partitions.

Boot from your Windows XP CD. Delete the partition that contains Vista, recreate it and install Windows.

You can never format a drive that contains a running operating system. It is called self destruct and operating systems don't normally do self-destruct.

@tvc it says it has a higher version

@OtheHill..using CD inside the vista..because i guess the vista wont allow me to boot from the CD..when booting

I doubt it is Vista that is stopping you. Have you gone into BIOS and set the CDROM as first boot device?
