My previous message disappeared, so i will have post it again:
I re-installed WindowsXP over an old XP installation because I changed my motherboard. I did that with the sole purpose of keeping my previous XP settings. I hoped that after the re-installation everything will be OK. I was wrong.
Now I have two network connections created by the new XP installation and my actual network connection is gone. The problem is that i cannot delete these new network connections. Right click -> Delete is not working - it prompts me that i "cannot delete these connections" or sth. I unchecked the protocols in the faulty connections and i disabled the connections themselves. Still I cannot delete them.
How to remove them?
Thanx!

I would suggest a complete reinstall from scratch. Use the Xp install to format the drive and then install.
Proper method to xfer a system is to run sysprep first. Then xfer to new system board and have the driver disks ready.
Another method is to run repair [not new install] from the xp cd but you can end up with double registry entries.

I did just that, man - a repair installation over an existing WindowsXP. I just wanted to repair the XP after I changed my motherboard without the need to install all the programs from scratch and without the need to adjust settings. So now, everything is just fine except those new network connections that cannot be deleted.
