Hi
There was a file on my NTFS partintion with name abc.xls. By mistake I opened another file aaa.xls & Saved it as abc.xls. Now I have lost the original contents of abc.xls. Pls helphow to recover. Which utility Paid or freeware will help me reciver. I have tried GetDataBack & Easy Recovery Professinal from Ontrack
Pls help

It's generally a good idea to create a new restore point every day, that way any foul-ups you make can easily be resolved. Personally i think your file's gone forever, but i may be wrong.

Search for FINAL DATA you can even retrieve
files from a quick formatted disk. So I think u have
a chance.

BTW - Making a restore point is useless cause it
doesn't affect self created files, and since this is a
Excel file it wouldn't affect it.

Ummm, i beg to differ, i have loads of word and excel documents, and i restore often.

Think Terriz is right, no?? Restore isn't effective on files like word and excel like Homer mentioned are they?
