Instead of writing a image to my USB drive [G:\], I selected my C:\ where XP was installed, immediately I realized and stopped the process. But the XP stopped booting, so I reinstalled XP on the 2nd partition [which was my D: before]
If you look at the attached image, the first NTFS 1.46GB and the second 'unformatted' partitions were together my C: before
Third partition is my new XP Install.
I need to know if there is a way to recover the 1st and 2nd partition together so that I can get my earlier XP ?
Please note that I was using http://www.roadkil.net/program.php?... by my mistake I selected C: drive instead of G:\
Please find here the part info now: http://quickfiles.net/img/partition...

Boot to a Knoppix cd and see if you can access any of the partitions still.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

In my opinion, there is no chance of restoring your C: partition back to the way it was.
My advice is also to use Knoppix, or a File Recovery program to save as many of your files as possible. Then do a reinstall.

After you recover your info, try this.
