You should have backed up your files to a different drive before re-installing Windows, in fact you should have backed up your files before Windows started giving you problems in the first place. Anyone who doesn't do that is a fool.

Most of your files will probably be partially or fully overwritten now, so you may have lost some of them forever. Try using file recovery software. Some free ones here, use Google Search to find more:

I primarily use GetDataBack by runtime, it's not free but it will recover scenarios such as you describe, I have done it many times. It is not free, but works better than many other options.

Free software to try maybe PC Files Inspector

I'm really sorry to hear that you lost your precious files, but do not worry, there is still hope to recover your lost data by using the free card recovery softwate.
First, download free card Recovery software. And install it someplace other than the disk that you want to rescue deleted files.
Second, launch it, select the disk you want to rescue in left list and click "Next" to start the automatic scanning process.
Third, choose the ones you want to recover from the list of all recoverable photos and click "Next". Fourth, Select a folder to store the recovered files. Click "Next" and the photos would be rescued successfully.
I feel that finding old files is to find some valuable memories. That's significant thing. I wish you good luck.
