how to partition hard Drive in XP

My friend just bought a new Computer with pre installed XP on it and has a 120 gig hard drive, now he wants to puta partion on it maybe 2x60gigs, is there a way of doing this without putting his xp disc in and reformat his machine? Or can he put his XP cd in and keep all his files and folfers and just put a partion on this, I did it once on my own but that was when I was reinstalling everything, I dont want to mess up and loose all his programs, Any help would be aprreciated Thanks B

if I use Partition magic and say I mess it up... can I restore the computer back to the way it was before I used Partition Magic??? and any idea what version should I get of Patition Magic??

Exactly , you should also check the warrenty of your m/c.Some times (i know this for dell ) warrenty is Void if you partition the HDD.

Thanks I will try, also any ideas on this one I took out his 4 port USB pci card and put it in his new machine and when I start uo his computer it starts to boot up and then stays there and everything is all black screen far as the computer goes but the 4 port is working in other computer?

Check if the card is in properly seated if it is then check in the BIOS if the Primary HHD 0 is AUTO or off/unknown. IF it is off/unknown then then may be the HDD cable needs to be reseated

Before using PM do a backup to some other media. I have used PM many times with no problem but some have disastered the Hard drive.
