how to open partition disk without formatting

June 23, 2011 at 21:02:31
Specs: Windows XP, Celeron 2.4
My desktop has 2 80gb HDD. I used the other one for my OS (disk C) and the other for my saved files (disk D).

My problem occurred when I reformatted disk C. All is well until I tried to open Disk D. It won't . . . unless I FORMAT it. That would mean erasing all the datas in disk D!

How can I open disk D without going thru FORMATTING?

Thanks in advance.

Have you re-installed the operating system?

You need to try attaching the d: drive to another computer and see if the same problem occurs - if it doesn't then drag off your data onto that computer while you have the chance.
