How do you have MULTIPLE windows on the screen at the same time, instead of closing one and opening the other, going back and forth all the time. They would have to be small. I dont know how to do it.

if you are using internet explorer to keep each window open when you have the window open click control and the letter n and it will never go away until you close it

Heres a great utility to view several desktops with open windows and minimize and recall the ones you want and its free.

Virtual Desktop Manager at this website,

Also to do what you want dual monitors is the way to go. Grab another video card and monitor and setup two monitors and makes jobs like this a breeze.

To do what you are asking, right click in the taskbar and choose tile windows horizontally, or tile windows vertically.

Thanks, Doc for both of your ideas. The simple one was the last one. How do you keep them all on the screen. Also, do you know how I can increase the desktop size. I already have it on "stretch", but it still shows the black of the screen around the desktop background. Pls email me. Thanks.

I tried the tiling, but if you work on one window, the other one closes. I want to go back and forth without having to open and close any windows. Can it be done?

The black around the screen.. if you have used the monitors manual controls to stretch it as far as it goes.. thats probably all your going to get. Some monitors are deisgned that way.

Keeping multiple windows open and displayed side by side at the same time.. like this screenshot?

Hit the minimize button and grab the corner of the window.. stretch it to 50% or 25% of the screen.. open a new window and do the same. Manually move the windows to the position you want.

There is no way to have new windows open in a designated area. The best you can do is have them tile and manually move them.. You can set the IE windows to open at 25% or whatever you want by ..

Closing all windows but one.. manually stretch it to the size you want and close it using the X. All new windows should open that size.

Multiple windows - also try this - Contol Panel\Folder Options - General Tab - 'Open each Folder in it's own window'

Maybe that's what you want ?

You'll still have to re-size each though and then use Left Mouse button on the Title Bar to move the windows side by side

For Interent Explorer you could try IE\Options - Advanced - Browsing 'Re-use windows for Launching Shortcuts' - take the check out of that

Lesley--I think I have the strength to left-click the mouse button on the Title bar to move the windows. Both your post above and the one from previous poster is definitely what I needed. You should be an advisor to the White House. They need a little straightening out.
