I try do cd copy to cd ( disk copy ) in winxp, But I can not find any this tool or function word in winxp.
Is there anyone know how to make CD copy to CD in WinXP ?

Hi,
You have to view the files on the Original CD (via My computer) that you want to copy, highlight them and then either on the tool bar to the left or by right clicking (I think), you should see a link that says something like 'copy to cd'.
Click that link and then the files will be temporarily stored on the drive that corresponds to your CD-RW drive (i.e, (E:\ Drive).
Browse your CD-RW drive via My Computer and you should see the files temporarily stored as shortcut files.
Highlight them (you may not be required to though) and you should see another link on the left toolbar thats says write to CD or something like that.
Click the link and XP will run a CD writing program.

XP's burning features are very limited and don't include cd copying. You need to look for other burning software. Clone CD makes excellent coppies, and Nero does a fair job too.

Ger it is not often that you err but you can indeed make a copy of a CD using the drag and drop (or cut and paste) facilities that XP provide. I use it frequently and contrary to a lot of opinion on this forum I prefer it to a lot of other burn programmes.

That's not really the same as copying a cd. Many people want to copy music cds and they just don't respond the way a data cd does. To be a true copy, the cd needs to be imaged to the hard drive as an .iso file and then burned to the blank cd. I have to stand by my first answer until someone shows me step by step instructions on how to do it with XP.

If you want to burn a music cd you just simply use the cd copy feature built into the windows media player that comes with XP.
For data just use the standard cd copy on the left menu bar in my computer.Problem's solved!

Ger... I've got to admit defeat on this one. I don't make that many music CDs and I never gave it a thought.
We live and learn though... regards

I know you can use Windows Media Player to copy songs from a cd, then use it to burn them to a blank cd, but cd coppying apps are so simple to use and give such nice results, so that's why I suggested them. Also, you need something specialized like CloneCD to back up some software cds, especially game cds that need to be inserted during game play. I've got 3 kids, so I back up all my software in case they ruin a cd by handling it too roughly (or playing frisbee when I'm not around).

If you are into basic copying...try "SimpliCD" by Oakteach...their birning software...it was rated product of the year by PC mag....and I use it...and it WORKS.....you mist uninstall any othe burning software prior to this...
Just search the net and look at at ALL the positive comment...
