I am no expert, but: When clicking Format... there is an option: Create an MS-DOS start up disk. What you want???

Here's how to do the ASR disk in win xp: Start->All Programs->System Tools->Backup->Advanced Mode->click on Automated System Recovery Wizard button and follow the onscreen instructions. Hope this helps. Bye

XP has built in ERD on the bootable cd, just hit R for repair which is essentially the same thing as the old NT4/win2k ERD, if you need more than this winternals has a ERD bootable CD.
