my system configuration is core i3,3 GB ram & preloaded windows 7 home Basic

Why do you want to do that? Downgrading to WinXP can present some driver problems that may or may not be overcome.
First you need an XP CD and CoA Key Code, then you need to use nLite to intergrate the SATA Controller Drivers and Service Pack 3. You will be able to install XP, wether or not can find all the drivers is hard to say! Probably have difficulty getting XP to run smoothly as the Motherboard Chipset Software is optimised for Vista/7.
VirtualPC would be easier like http://www.vmware.com/products/player/
Please tell me how to Install Windows XP on hp G62 i3 laptop.
