I am trying to install Windows XP Pro on a slave hard drive. Is there a way i can copy from hard drive to hard drive. OR can i install from CD to Slave straight forward?

Thank you for your help.

Do you have os on master? CD that came with drive should have program to copy drive from c: to d:. You can also install to second hard drive if you wish. Do you intend to have a dual boot system?

You can pull the power cable off the Master, Keep the Slave power cable connected, and reboot with the XP disk in the CDrom. XP will boot to the slave and then just install as normal. Result will be two independent drives with XP, but you will only be able to boot into the Master (unless you want to play power cable tag forever).

As domass said above, better way is to creat a dual-boot setup, then you can choose either one you want on boot.

Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime;
Then industry pollutes the water and kills all the fish.

You can run the XP install and direct it to install on the D: drive. If you already have an OS on the C: drive, the install will set up a dual boot option on it.
