Why do you want to do that? Is it the primary slave or 2ndary slave? What's on the primary master drive? Do you want to dual boot?

"drive D-cd to drive E-slave drive "

does not tell us much. Can you install xp on a slave drive? Sure no problem just like you would a primary drive.

Though before you do so I would recommend moving your cdrom from d: to something like r: or it can bite you in the rear later.

You have to answer our follow up questions so that we're clear on what you're trying to do. What you're asking doesn't make sense.
