Comment:

I just reinstalled my XP onto my old computer. Now I want to have a dual boot option and have it work properly. I gave 50%of the hard drive space to my first OS. NOw all I have to do is just install the other OS and it will just give me a dual boot option everytime I load it up?

I just want to confirm this before I do so.

A basic rule is:
The oldest opersting system must be installed first.

Home And Pro are the same age, an older operating system would be Win ME (Do NOT install) or Win 98 which would be ok.

Or you could go and install a Linux distro which will sort itself out regarding which boots first, with either the Lilo or Grub boot managers.

Joe Tech,

Might not be the simplest way but not so difficult.

Partition Magic has a walk thru on how to install the 2nd OS. 1st- install the OS then Partition Magic program then look up the options... simple then ( and I don't consider myself as a guru, far from it but succeeded all the times).

Good luck.

Now that's impressive. I thought having Netware, Linux, and a bunch of MS OS's multibooted in one system was great.

Trust that YOUTH has the time for such endeavors :-) That kid is going somewhere!

Hi all...

I'm trying to install Windows XP, Fedora Core 3 and Red Hat 9. I've installed Windows Xp first then followed by Fedora Core 3. When it comes to RedHat 9, I have doubt because there will be two copies of GRUB loader, one for FC3 and another for RedHat.

What is the proper or best way to do this?

Thank you
