How to install an OS ? (like XP)

You probably cannot uninstall XP. You can either upgrade XP to SP2 by either Service Pack or installing a fresh copy or upgrade over top of your current version.
You can download the SP2 service pack from Microsoft.
If you have two disk drives. Move all your files you want to keep to the secondary disk drive. Then install SP2 over the top.

This is not entirely correct.
You can completely remove Windows XP, by formatting the drive. This can all be done by booting from your XP installation disk.
Be sure to backup any files you want to keep.
