i have windows xp, and for some reason, when i try to open up a program, like photoshop, AIM, etc, it comes up in a notepad file, and i get this message," This program cannot be run in DOS mode."followed by a bunch of giberish. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

i wanted to, all my programs, except for internet explorer, come up in notepad, is there like, a setting on boot menu or something?
