Which one in particular do you mean ?

There are many of them throughout your system but most are super-hidden but they are needed.

Don't be paranoid - read this and relax.

Now understand that Desktop.ini is an essential XP shell feature. If you are familiar with GDI this explains its purpose. If you delete desktop.ini, you will wonder why your desktop & folder arrangement looks awfully disarranged.

Normally the deskop.ini file is hidden to the user but you have enabled 'Hide protected operating system files (recommended)' in folder options.

If you want to revert back to hiding these files which the average user will NEVER need to see then open my computer>tools>folder options>view and under Advanced options scroll down and tick the 'Hide protected operating system files (recommended)' box and click ok.

This will also hide other files that you have most likely been seeing such as Thumbs.db.
