How to get Nero Drivespeed working?

Hello, I have downloaded the program Nero Drivespeed, but it doesn't work like i want it to. It works well for my cd-rom drive, but when i select my dvd (samsung) it cant detect the reading speeds for dvd's. When i select the speeds manually, the drive doesn't listen to the program and reads like it doesn otherwise. Is there a possibility to get the program work with my dvd (maybe firmware update???)
