I'm confused - haven't you got a (bootable) xp install CD? Why do you need the 6 floppy boot startup? It would be best if you reposted with full information in the xp forum.

The XP Diskette Set is self-creating and will over size the floppies automatically, you are making life difficult by trying to do it yourself manually:

"it is a vista problem...."

Then why did you post in the XP forum??

Why are you using floppies. Why don't you just boot off the Vista disc?

sorry...I am so frustrated after weeks of answers that did not help...I ruined it and now bought a new disc and that can't be seem either. still getting error messages.. eg like No HDD, hit any button... and the like...I bought an enclosure for it...my last try, and should work like all my external drives. inexpensive at 24 buck er roos.
