How to format with ntfs 5.1

I'm looking to formatting my laptop with ntfs 5.1 before a clean install of windows xp. I've checked my current ntfs version and it's ntfs, I need the encryption for work purposes. How do I format to ntfs 5.1? thanks, Don

Not sure of the difference, but XP formats in NTFS 5.1, tho W2K was v5. If u let XP re-partition the drive when installing, and then re-format, u should be sure of the latest version. Hope this helps
