I want to flag some frequently used files
from rest of files in D drive in Windows Xp
so that I can easily find them. Is there any
way to change the color of file name to
differentiate them from others ?

How can I do the same ?

I don’t know about changing the color but you could prefix the name(s) with, say, AA or something similar. Bear in mind that system files names should not be changed but documents, pictures and the like are OK.

You could then list them by Selecting and Copying the following 4 lines:
attrib /s D:\AA*.* >AAfiles.txt
start notepad AAfiles.txt
exit
cls

Now go to Start > Run, type cmd and press Enter. Using the mouse right-click, Paste the 4 copied lines to the command prompt window. When the list has been compiled, Notepad will open and display your files.

Or move them to a folder.
