how to fix runtime error

Specs: Windows XP
when I turn on computer takes a long time to "load" and then microsoft visuall c++ runtime library error pops up - says runtime error! program: C:\Program Files\Common files\ Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe
-pure virual function call
then ....nothing, windows main home screen never arrives!!! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
I don't have a Windows install disc either! :(

When you turn your computer on start tapping the F8 key to get the Safe Mode
screen. Their are several things you can try. Start with
Last Known Good Configuration.
Reply back for more support with what happened.

Boot your system into safe mode and do the system restore. it would takje effect.
