CD/DVD Drive is not Detected in Windows XP, Me, or 98
CD drive or DVD drive is missing in Windows XP or Vista
For CD/DVD drives
Install > Run the program > Selected Types, tick Optical drives & Click > Scan Registry. When finished, Click > Clean Selected.
Install > Run the program > Selected Types, tick Disk drives & Click > Scan Registry. When finished, Click > Clean Selected.
CMOS SETUP. You may need to go into your CMOS Setup and enable your the appropriate drive in the Standard Setup (Award BIOS). Setting it to Auto works with most recent motherboards.
