Hello.
I have a shared printer on my computer with windows xp pro on it, and others are using my computer to print. When I am in the middle of the job and the working day has finished I send my computer to hibernate using keyboard button. While I am away my computer is being used by others for printing. But often they don't know I am in the middle of the job, so after finishing with printing they don't send it to hibernate but switch it off using switch off button on login screen. This way I loose all job. Is there a way to eliminate or hide switch off button on login screen?
Thank you.
Best regards.

Couple choices. Finish all work and close all programs before leaving for the evening. Tell the users to not turn the machine off, or put a big sign on it saying that. :)

This article has a long list of items you can disable via the registry:

Plus you can configure the front panel switch to send the computer to hibernate. Control Panel/Power Options.

Then you can configure the Start Menu options as described by Chuck above.

The only way to actually turn the computer of then is by holding down the power button for at least four seconds providing that option is set in the BIOS.

in the worse cases they can still shutdown using the power key, so why don't u also change that if they push the shutdown buttom, you computer goes to standby,
at least u can save ur works.

If someone really wants to power off the machine, you can't stop them. All they'd have to do is unplug the power cord.

I'd go with my first suggestion. :)
