Specs: Windows XP
I have installed ths Free Media Player, Free Player from the interent. However after I have Free Player, it prevents me from “Shut Down” or “Restart” the computer. Hence, I decided to un-installed the program. By the way, I have scanned the program, it does have any virus or Trojan. And I un-installed the Free Player from the Add/Remove Program. Everything is clear but these wordings “??Free Player?? and “ Use Free Player Play” will appear at the (normal) box when I right click the mouse at a movie file or document. Please kindly advice how can I edit or remove the said wordings. Thank you very much.

There are three ways to do this.

1. Do a manual search of the Registry and delete subkeys.
2. Use a general registry cleaner that will catch invalid program entries.
3. Use a context menu editor, such as FileTypeMan.

Both 1 and 2 can get you into trouble if you're unclear on what you're doing.

Control Panel> Tools> Folder Options> File types
tab> (find and single click a file)> Advanced>
Then in actions list add or change what you want.
