My DVD player (samsung SD-612) is showing as PIO mode only (DMA unavailable)and it needs to have DMA in order to run smoothly. I recently downloaded a zipped firmware update for WinXP from the Samsung website but am unclear as to how to apply the update.
Two quick questions: 1. How to do i do a firmware update? (something about flashing it in DOS) 2. I have a dual boot system with WinME where my DVD player works great. Will the update foul up the way it works in ME since it is designed for XP?
