I did do a search of the forum first, but could not find an answer.
Does anyone know how to disable the windows system error popup message for IP address conflicts?
I am on a dsl cable connection with no other pc or router. I have gone throught the conflict resolution procedures many times and have contact my ISP (not in US or UK) who are unable to help (they barely speak English).
Please - no advice on fixing the IP conflict. I have already spent four months working on it with techs. All I want is a way to disable the error message, which pops up at random times during the day and is very annoying. I have already gone to the registry and disbled all the infotip settings. This has not worked. Help anyone? TIA

My feeling is that you have very little chance of disabling the message. I think you probably need to continue to find out why you have the conflict. There are some pretty sharp people in the networking forum.

May be that you have to uncheck 'Administrative Alerts'. ???
Right click My Computer,
then click Properties,
then Advanced tab,
then click the Settings button that is in "Startup and Recovery"

Stop in there and you'll be there a week playing with ideas you can't go another day without trying.

I'm trying this now. Seems to be working but I'll just have to wait for a while to see as the conflicts seem to be random. Funny no one pointed this one out to me before. I actually saw that setting option, but was not sure what "Administrative Alerts" meant. Many Thanks.

Nope, this did not work either. The system error popups just started again. Thanks anyway.
