Hey all!

i ve got a Compaq presario m2000 laptop.
and i need a sound card driver for this.
the recommended drivers provided on the compaq sited doesnt work because this laptop of mine went for a repair to compaq only and most probably the compaq people changed its audio card but didnt give the reqd drivers.
nw when i got my laptop formatted i am not able to install the sound card driver.

pl tell me a way to either detect the sound card's driver version or give me some compatible drivers for presario m2000.

thnx!

Conexant is usually the Modem Chipset.

HWInfo will list the manufacturer of hardware:

Sound adapters are built into the motherboard on laptops. I don't think the shop replaced it.
You are probably trying to install the wrong driver from the Compaq site.

Service centers only repair/replace the hardware under warranty service. Driver/software updates or replacement are the responsibility of the user. The Compaq site on this page lists the M2000 driver as;

Conexant - CX20468-31 AC97 Audio driver - 12-2004 - 6.13.10.8342 B - 993.08k

It is the second one on the list
