How to delete D drive quickrestore

I need to delete the D drive on my system (quickrestore)i need the 5 gigs it takes up i have no use for it.I would like to add the 5 gig on my main C drive but im not sure how too.I was thinking to right click on the D drive click format and then load a win 98 bootdisk and fdisk the d drive im not sure if this would work tho.I dont want to mess up my computer and then need to format the whole thing.If anyone has any pointers or how to do this i would appreciate it.

right click My Computer> select MANAGE> click on DISK MANAGEMENT> right click on the disk you want and select FORMAT>
MAKE SURE YOU DONT SELECT YOUR C:\ DRIVE!!!
You will then have another drive to use for storage.

1> use Partition Magic (or similar software),
2> completely FORMAT your entire drive (complete data loss)

I agree with Rich. Use Partition Magic. Its VERY simple and it will allow you to recover your lost disk space. I know cause I just did the exact same thing less then an hour ago. You can obtain a trail version of it I'm sure but I dont think you can actually do it unless you have the full version.
Summary: If you just want to delete that drive letter you need to let your computer boot up to windows. Go to my computer. Right Click the Drive letter D and hit disconnect. But I have to ask a few questions...
