How to copy original BIOS

OS: WinXP pro
CPU/Ram: PIII-500/ 512

I want upgrade BIOS at my pc.
I read instruction about upgrade BIOS, it said I need copy original BIOS to the floppy disk in case something going on while doing upgrade.

In DOS and Window, I can not find BIOS file.

I don't know where is original BIOS file locate. I don't know how to copy back original BIOS to floppy disk.

during the bios flash/upgrade you will be prompted to back it up/save it. No need to do it first.

Your BIOS Upgrade Diskette [which you should be creating according to the instructions available at the BIOS Update download site for your Motherboard] will prompt you to create the BIOS Backup diskette and the DOS commands needed for that would in al likelihood would be avialable in the instructions at the download site.
Example: in Award BIOS you may find the following Command:

awdflash a:backup.bin /sy /pn
Since Flshing the BIOS is a very Serious procedure, please read all the documentations from the BIOS upgrade site before you try the procudure.
