How to change Username and password?

June 23, 2009 at 09:50:15
Specs: Windows XP

I have a computer at work that has not been used in well over a year. No one knows the username and password for it. I'd like to get on to it so we can use it as it was ment to be used.

When the longin window comes up you have to put in both the username and password, none of which I know. I don't want to format it because it has importent programmes on it that I need and don't have dics for.

I tried booting into safe mode so the hidden admin will show up, but nothing, I still have to type in the username and password.

How can I get onto this computer so I can change the username and password?

at the welcome window do a control-alt-delete a couple of times to bring up the logon windows. Put in administrator and password [assuming you know the password] to see if you can get in.

If not consider a repair install.
